The Impact of Air Pollution on Blood Clot Risk

LA Highway

Researchers found that long-term exposure to air pollution can increase the risk of developing blood clots in deep veins, which can be very dangerous if untreated. Data from over 6,600 participants over the span of 18 years showed that higher levels of air pollution, especially from vehicle exhaust and tiny particles in the air, were linked to a greater risk of blood clots. This research highlights how air pollution can harm our health in ways we may not realize, increasing the chances of serious health problems like blood clots.
